I mean, every country has its common language for communication, the Brazilians don't brag about being able to speak Portuguese, the Mauritians don't brag about speaking French, neither do the Mexicans brag about speaking Spanish. It just happen so that English is the common language used in Singapore, so what's the big deal about being able to speak English?Truth to be known, Singapore is made up by various Asian ethnic groups and English is NOT an Asian language to begin with. So theoretically, English isn't YOUR language, but rather, a language adopted/chosen for common communication amongst different ethnicities.
I can totally understand if you're proud for being proficient in 3 or 4 languages, but if you're being a snob just because you speak English, I'm sorry but I guess you must be stuck in some colonial time warp whereby the colonial master, aka the British are "superior".So speaking the language of the colonial master makes you feel a little more superior than your fellow ethnic brothers?
I tell you my friends, if that's what superiority is based on, the British, are about as superior as the hair on my anus...
Cheers.
