I'm a proud Christian, but I do not agree with how Christians preach about our religion in modern times.It's all associated with money and human agendas, such that one single denomination will tell you they are right while the others are wrong.
Jesus said "give your money to the poor and follow Me..." So why are the churches keeping all the money instead of giving?
I am absolutely disgusted by churches having state of the art facilities. A church is a house of God, and you honor God by doing good, not by decorating a human construction like a 6 star hotel, or maybe even a royal palace. These desires make you less spiritual and more material, which is NOT the basis of any religion.
Many priests and pastors who practice charismatic and prosperity gospel, said that Jesus rode a donkey, which in His day, is a BIG thing, pretty much the equivalent of an expensive car of today, hence it is ok for religious leaders to drive expensive cars since the Lord himself did it. The difference is, Jesus did not make/persuade anyone to donate their hard earned silver coins to buy him a donkey.Plus, if they really want to follow exactly what Jesus did, do NOT be selective! Why are they just choosing to mention only the "luxuries" Jesus had and arguing that it's ok for them to do so too since Jesus did it?
Well they are missing out the point that Jesus got crucified on the cross and died for humanity! Any priests or pastors willing to be crucified on the cross and die for me?
I am not saint, but truth to be known, if my death can save/change the world, or at least a person, I will gladly step onto my cross and offer my life...

Do you expect God to come and dwell in a old traditional moldy house? No right? Also, the money from offerings are used also to help the poor and the needy ALL around the world for you information!

First IF YOU EVER THINK OF JUDGING OTHERS, REFLECT UPON YOURSELF!!!
Anyway, Jesus said to the rich guy right, give up everything to the poor and follow me. But the rich man later on hesitated. But this passage doesn't point out to what u wrote. Jesus simply meant to say that if you follow him, there are bound to be sufferings.
Anyway, It is true that churches have now practices that comes along with human agenda. But in the bible it tells us, all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. This is why Jesus is sent to us to continue to renew our lives.
Best way for christians who sees this is to pray for these leaders to change and not just being judgemental and sit down and complain. :)
Hi there, great vision, great passion. But i doubt you have read the Word of God thoroughly... and sadly to say that you are NOT Jesus, your death can't save the world!!! got it??? Pastors or church leaders they don't drive expensive cars because they wanted to act like Jesus, for us can never become like Him. God want each and every single one of us to prosper that includes pastors alright!! And if even the people in church who are saved and be called as servant in the house of God then who will willingly come to church and get themselves saved then??? TRY HARDER AND USE YOUR BRAIN NEXT TIME!!!! OYA REMEMBER TO READ YOUR BIBLE!!

God gave us a brain to differentiate right and wrong. I am exercising it. If you have a problem with a human judgmental, you are judging me as well. If you argue with "you are stating the obvious", so was I stating the obvious humans are playing their agenda via religion. You glorify an earthly king with earthly material, you glorify a divine king with divine material. What good is glorifying a divine king with the riches of the earth, when somewhere around the corner of the world, other children of his are suffering?

Pray for them to change? Great faith. But personally, I believe God helps those who help themselves. I'd rather do something than pray for them to change.

I don't study and recite the bible word for word. Neither do I agree that the bible is totally the word of god. I do believe, that the bible has been misinterpreted through translation, or edited due to human agenda (esp during the roman church's rule period). I am using my brains by the way. My death probably cannot save the world. But I am the man who will one day conquer it.
Tsk tsk tsk! You did not read my comment properly is it? I stated that some of the churches are helping other countries with the money ok?! EXAMPLE: the Aceh Tsunami and the recent taiwan incident!
I don't know which church are you talking about in particular, but I'm sure somewhere out there, maybe Africa, maybe middle east, someone is suffering.
In my opinion, no churches should be luxuriously decorated, till there is ample for EVERYONE in this world.
The world is only as much as its least fortunate member is.
The reason why there are still people suffering is not because of churches beautifying their building but because of corruption and the leaders that are placed over the countries. Did you know that there are ample food supplies just that in countries like america etc, food is wasted. Just think if all those food are collected, it would be enough to feed those people who are in hunger!
I totally agree on this point. The world is enough for our needs, but not our greed.
Apart from corrupted leader, churches, being the spiritual compass, should also take an active role is putting the money to save humanity instead of fancily decorating their buildings.
Money is limited, should they spend all the save as many as possible, or should they save some and decorate their church?
It's up to individual opinion, and I find it pointless that we're going through the same topic again and again. As much as I hate the government is being "selective" about who they want to care for, I am also against churches decorating themselves luxuriously until the world is rid of problems that can be solved by money.
That is why I have an idea to save the world, that is to conquer it.
I know what you mean on that.. I guess thts why I always believe that all religions practice good things but the interpretor, ie: pastors, priests, ministers corrupt the meaning
