High School Losers

Many enjoyed high school - the fun, the booze, the girls, skipping school and bullying that pathetic kid who was branded an outcast, a loser. These so-called "high school losers" actually often grow up to become more successful people than many will ever be.

Now, so who are the popular ones in school? The hardworking? The righteous? The thinker? No, it's usually the guys who are perceived as "fun" - spending more time making out with girls, pushing others around and those who don't think about life.

Personally, I was an outcast. And in a way, I still am.

High school was a nightmare for me. With my unimpressive height of 5'7, I was constantly being picked on. Because I spent more time thinking about bigger issues in life rather than fun, I was branded a nerd (though my academic results said otherwise). In fact, I had no interest in what the most youngsters would perceive as having fun. I'm a non-alcoholic, I'm not interested in partying at clubs, I don't know what the hell is so interesting about impressing the girls and most of all, I was like a caveman living in the wrong era who knew shit about what was "in" the teenage scene.

I was challenged to fights for no reason other than me being a kickboxer by alpha male wannabes who wished to prove themselves. Perhaps they had no other ways to prove to be better men, than dashing our their raw strength. And when they were not winning, guess what, their band of brothers will seem to appear from nowhere and jump on you. Inferior complex due to inadequate penile size, I tell you.

Well, but what happens to these "losers" when they grow up? What usually follow are career, nice personality and iron-will achieved from all these years of hardship. Look around you, remember that pathetic little kid who was bullied in school? Where is he now? And then that Mr. popular alpha male?

So young ones, listen up! I know high school sucks, I've been there myself. But trust me, when you get over it, it's gonna be a whole lot better.

hey you.

I'm redarkness from STOMP, I believe your post is relatively correct.

I myself got bullied like sh!t everyday of my secondary sch life, and yes, that's everyday. No rest from any abuse you can think of.

And I'm quite a different person now. (:

Hellos! I totally agree with this post! But i'm a girl so i don't bother about impressing girls. Haha! I don't have many friends and people usually treat me as if i'm transparent. I don't like partying at all and people brand me a nerd though i get Es for all my subjects. Hi-five! :)

Reading your blog really reminded me about the days when I was in school. I was the nerdy outcast but I never was a scholar either. I was always picked on by almost everyone and of course, the popular girl in school was always avoiding me or bullying me.

What you said is very true. It has been a while since we all last left school but I am doing well compared to my peers and guess what? I'm getting married to the most popular girl in school next year! Totally agree with your post. Cheers!
